The Taking of Pelham 123
The Taking of Pelham 123

New York City subway dispatcher Walter Garber's ordinary day is thrown into chaos by an audacious crime: the hijacking of a subway train. Ryder, a criminal mastermind, leads a highly-armed gang of four, threatening to execute the train's passengers unless a large ransom is paid within one hour. As the tension mounts beneath his feet, Garber employs his vast knowledge of the subway system in a battle to outwit Ryder and save the hostages.

But there's one riddle Garber can't solve: even if the thieves get the money, how can they possibly escape?

Woh. woah~ whoa!

Do you like fast paced films?
If you do then this is the show just for you :)

This movie takes you along with it's one hell of a fast-paced ride.
This is probably the first time I've brought snacks into the theater without even touching them. (Simply forgot about them)

The character Ryder, is so cool and mean at the same time. You gotta respect him for having the balls to hijack a freaking train with a very intelligent plan to screw the minds of the cops/train people.

The only down side about this show would be the screeching sound effects of the trains at the start of the show otherwise...

I'll give it a 9.0/10!

I have seen neither the late 1974 movie nor the original novel and I don't give a damn to them either.
I'm not your average loser joe that reads a book and compare it with the movie.

And if you were to be those wanna-be bastards critics that will compare this movie with the 1974 film, I'll say... !@# you fail.

It's meant to be different, and we should be glad the director directed it in another way.

What's the point of watching something you've seen before again with just new casts?

Last week, I went to an IT Fair located at Suntec City Convention Hall to get a new printer before stopping at a Japanese restaurant for some fried Japanese food.

And... thanks to 大姐 for the free tix, the four of us got to watch..

Slumdog Millionaire!
Slumdog Millionaire!

This movie is about a slumdog who was arrested under the suspicion of cheating in a 'Who wants to be a Millionaire?' game. The story slowly unfolds after he reveals how he actually knew almost all the answers in the game.

Overall, I think that this film is definitely worth watching even though it feels like there was too much of a coincidence. Not forgetting the anti-climax ending scene with the typical bollywood dance.

TWILIGHT
TWILIGHT

Your everyday modern vampire storyline. Apparently in this story, there are some descendants of vampires living in the wettest place in the continental US.
And one of them happen to fall in love with an ordinary girl...

I have to say this movie was pretty entertaining for me however I'm quite surprised that the vampires didn't have any fangs at ALL!
(Though you have to admit that the lead actor does really have the features for a modern vampire)

YESH!!

My exams are finally over and now I have no excuses for not updating my blog. =P

The Curious Case of Benjamin Button
The Curious Case of Benjamin Button

This is a mind-twisting story about a man who 'ages backwards'. A newborn baby who looks just like a dying old man, with bad hearing and poor eyesight grew up in an elderly home where the old folks are waiting for their death to come while he alone grows... younger.

The beginning of the movie was quite confusing in a sense that you may even ponder if you are in the right theatre. Even a lady (stranger) who was sitting beside me asked me if we were watching 'The Curious Case of Benjamin Button'. lolol.

Overall, it's a great movie for people who want to see something not scary but goes against the laws of nature.

After the movie, I went to get a new mouse for my desktop. (SomeONE, I'm not pointing fingers, killed my previous one during CNY)

Egg mouse!
Egg mouse!

Happened to see this unique mouse hanging around, but I didn't get it because it'd have been too distracting, sitting there on my table.

Anyways 2 weeks before, I was celebrating my grandmother's birthday at some fancy restaurant.
And of course, the food served were pretty good. (maybe because I'm learning to appreciate food more)

Do you happen to know what this is?
???????
Guess the filling inside!

The filling inside is ...
a) meat!
b) chocolate!
c) coca-cola!
d) empty.. duh!

Hello everyone, I'm back to feed my blog again!

I've been too busy lately (with all the rushing of projects + presentation) but I'm glad it's finally over.

There's only 3 exam papers left to sit for so I don't have a problem with relaxing a bit.

It has been quite some time since I've been to the Causeway Point.
I went there to catch a Hong Kong film with my group members after our presentation.

All's Well End's Well 2009Rating: PG
Genre: Comedy
Language: Mandarin with Chinese and English subtitles
Plot Summary: Kei's (Ronald Cheng) eldest sister Sandra (Sandra Ng) is a hot-tempered magazine editor and her temperament has left her single.
One of the family rules is that none of the siblings can get married before their eldest sister.
Kei seeks help from the famous Casanova, Koo Chai (Louis Koo), to pretend to court his eldest sister and lure her into the mood of love.
With Sandra falling in love with Koo Chai, he in turn falls for another girl, Mun.
All's Well End's Well 2009

I feel that the direction of the plot is pretty predictable, excluding all the random moments where you'll start laughing uncontrollably(well, at least for me).

They have this unique expression for "falling-in-love" which I feel, have been overused in the movie.

The expression consist of only 3 steps: first start by tipping your toes then turn your eyes white and start dancing like a clown.
It was hilarious at first but towards the end... *shakes head*

Overall, I think my $6 for laughter is worthed it. (student price is ♥)

Before I get the "unwillingness-to-blog-becoz-im-damn-tired" feeling again, I'll make a quick update here.

Recently I went to catch a movie with vinny, kc and pris after lunching at kbox.

赤壁:决战天下
赤壁:决战天下

I'm glad that this movie didn't disappoint me at all.
I feel that there was sufficient action, smart dialogues and of course, blood shed for me.

There were also quite a few unforgettable battle formations shown. (the human shield/ramp, anti-fire box, etc)

Hopefully they will make a season 3, but kc insists otherwise.

ALS's rating: 8/10 (-0.5 points because CAOCAO didn't die!!! kidding!)
